01The method

One coach. Six people. Every session planned.

01

A coach, in the room with you

Someone is with you for every session, watching how you move and quietly adjusting things as you go. A person, rather than a plan on an app.

02

Six people, at most

Enough company to make it enjoyable, and few enough that your coach sees every rep you do.

03

Every session planned for you

You walk in and the session is already written, with a coach there to explain the why. There's nothing to work out on your own.

Most people who train here are between forty and sixty, and most hadn't trained in years when they first came in. We're on Drake Lane in Dursley, a short drive from Cam, Stroud, Wotton-under-Edge, Berkeley and Stonehouse. If you've been looking for a personal trainer or strength training near Dursley and the usual gyms have put you off, we think you'll feel at home here. Read about the club.

02The room

Athletic culture without ego.

Timber, daylight and proper kit, five minutes from the middle of Dursley. The people training here are teachers, nurses, people who've retired, and parents fitting a session in before work.

Have a look round before you visit. It's under a minute, captioned, and it plays quietly until you'd like the sound.

A minute inside the club, in Jack's own words.

What three coached hours a week give you back.

Perform

01

Strength you notice on an ordinary Tuesday.

Carrying the shopping in one go, or a full day in the garden and feeling fine the next morning. Three coached hours a week, and the rest of your life gets a little easier.

02

A room where you're known.

Someone notices if you don't turn up, and is pleased when you do. There are no mirrors and no leaderboard, just six people and a coach who knows your name.

Sustain

Built for the next thirty years.

Training that builds gently over months and years, so you're still taking the stairs at seventy, still in the garden on a Saturday, and still the one who says yes.

04The people

Three members, in their own words.

You really do feel like part of the family and part of a home here.

Dee · member

It just felt safe and it felt supportive and friendly and like people had my best interests at heart.

Ruth · member

You get looked after. They tailor a training routine to suit you.

Pete · member

You won't be the only one who doesn't know what they're doing.

Nearly everybody stands outside for a minute first. Then they come in, someone says their name, and by the second week it's simply where they go on a Tuesday. Your first session is just you and a coach, so the room isn't part of day one.

05The 21 Day Trial

Three weeks is long enough to feel the difference, and short enough to say yes to.

Three weeks of coached training for someone who hasn't trained in a while, or has never trained like this.

Your first session is just you and a coach, so there's no audience on day one.

  • A conversation first, about what you want, what hurts and what you've tried.
  • Three sessions a week at set times that suit you.
  • One coach, never more than six people, every session.
  • Your weights and movements set for where you are right now.
  • An honest chat at the end, and then it's entirely your call.

06Before you ask

Questions people ask first.

I'm not fit enough to start.

Hardly anyone is when they start, and that's completely fine. Your first session is a conversation and a few simple movements at a weight that feels comfortable. We start from wherever you are.

I'm in my sixties. Is that too old?

Not at all. Plenty of our members are in their sixties and seventies, training the same sessions as everyone else, on their own weights.

I've got a dodgy knee or shoulder.

Tell us when we call and we'll plan around it from day one. If something doesn't feel right mid-session, your coach will swap the movement for one that does.

Is this personal training?

It's small group personal training. A coach is in the room watching how you move, at a fraction of one-to-one prices, with five other people at most.

How much time does it take?

Three hours a week, at set times that suit you. Most people find it fits around work and family more easily than they expected.

Where are you?

Suite 2, Drake House, Drake Lane, Dursley, GL11 4HH. There's parking right outside.

Ready when you are.

Your first session is just you and a coach. Send your details and we'll be in touch within one working day to find a time that suits you.
